A WORD FROM OUR NATIONAL COORDINATOR
The mid-year meeting of the Coordinating Council of the Bivocational And Small Church Leadership Network was held August 10-11, 2010 at the Tennessee Baptist Convention building in Brentwood, Tennessee.
There were 34 in attendance which represented 14 states.
Among other things, the National Celebration to be held at the White Oak Conference Center in South Carolina was discussed in detail. It will take place April 14-16, 2011. There will be a bivo church planting training event all day Thursday. The North American Mission Board will provide the training and cover Wednesday night lodging and meals during the training. Dr. Ken Weathersby of NAMB will be our keynote speaker on Friday night. The theme of the Celebration will be “Wake Up”. The full details of the celebration will be posted on this website soon.
Brochures for the “One In A Thousand” financial promotion will be available soon. We are hoping to have 1000 individuals or churches commit to a donation of $100 each year to cover the expenses of moving the BSCLN forward.
A new component will be added to our leadership structure. At the National Celebration, we will launch a Directors of Missions Network. We hope to have a number of the DOMS across the SBC meet with us to plan future ministry to bivocational and smaller membership church leaders in our Convention.
Things are moving swiftly. Pray for wisdom as we move forward.
If you have not already joined our Network, we would love to have you become a vital part of this great work of building the Kingdom of God through strengthening the leadership in the local church.
