A WORD FROM RAY

2013 National Celebration Report

The 2013 National Celebration of the Bivocational and Small Church Leadership Network held at William Carey University in Hattiesburg, Mississippi during April 18-20 was a tremendous event. The folks at William Carey went out of their way to be gracious hosts for the event. A special thanks goes to President, Dr. Tommy King, his assistant, Barbara Hamilton, and key staff members: Dr. Brett Golson and Dr. Scott Hummel. I cannot find words to describe the great musical presentations by the Music Department on the University. Without a doubt, it was the best music we have ever had at one of our Celebrations. We had over 100 in attendance representing nearly 20 different states. The largest number of attendees were from Mississippi and Louisiana. A special commendation goes to Dale Holloway, Joe Young and Gary Mitchell for their hard work. The messages and conferences were well worth the effort to attend. The interaction between pastors from various areas of the country was a blessing to witness. Our organization is growing and the future is very promising. God is bringing more and more key leaders into the BSCLN family. While we are still exploring various sources of possible funding, we always seem to have what we need to take the next step. There is no doubt in my mind that the BSCLN has a major role to play in the life of the Southern Baptist Family. There is, also, no doubt that our God will supply all of our need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
