REGIONAL CONSULTANT
POSITION DESCRIPTION
TITLE OF POSITION: Regional Consultant, Bivocational & smaller Church Leadership Network

REPORT TO: National Coordinator, Bivocational & smaller Church Leadership Network

FUNCTION: To assist the National Coordinator, Bivocational & Smaller Church Leadership Network in support of the activities related to bivocational and smaller church pastors and leaders.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist state convention Bivocational/Smaller Church Leader (B.S.C.L.) to organize bivocational and smaller church councils and fellowship, and to help plan state bivocational and smaller church retreats. If no state convention B.S.C.L. is available, encourage state exec. to consider including one within the convention leadership.
  • Provide help to seminaries and Baptist colleges on organizing and maintaining intentional bivocational and smaller church ministry fellowships.
  • Encourage associational D.O.M.'s to include an associational Director of Bivocational/Smaller Church Ministry within the associational ministries. Assist the D.O.M. to organize bivocational and smaller church fellowships and to help conduct regional training and celebration events. Work closely with Directors of Missions, they will be the closest contact to the Pastors.
  • Provide affirmation and encouragement to bivocational and smaller church ministers and their families through correspondence, phone calls, newsletters, celebrations and training events.
  • Create an awareness of the need of bivocational and smaller church ministries in new work settings, primarily as church planters.
  • Promote the concerns of bivocational and smaller church leaders in preaching, speaking, writing, teaching and conferencing opportunities.
  • Attend the BSCLN National Celebration and mid-year Coordinating Council Meeting.
